About us

Whakatane SeniorNet (Inc.) is a voluntary, non-profit community organization for persons fifty plus. We provide information knowledge and learning opportunities to give you confidence to use your selected electronic device to the extent that you wish. We are managed by a committee, elected from among our members each year. Our Annual General Meetings are held in February.

Other Activities

On the last Friday of each month February to October we hold a “Friday Forum” this is a social gathering where members can meet and chat with other members and tutors.

Whenever possible, we endeavour to arrange for a guest speaker at this forum, covering a wide range of interests, the presentation normally being followed by a questions and answers session. Following the Forum, there will be a social get together with drinks, nibbles, a great opportunity for discussing items of interest.

At end of the year, normally in late November we hold our Christmas Lunch, where members can socialise and enjoy light entertainment and of course Christmas cheer.

Each member attending this function is provided with a free raffle ticket. The prizes are a range of gift baskets and other smaller gifts. Members are requested to provide a low cost present for gift baskets by leaving them at the Learning Centre during November.

Whakatane Senior Net is a member of the New Zealand Federation of Senior Net Societies.

The Whakatane Senior Net Learning Centre is situated behind the tennis club in Goulstone Road, Whakatane, adequate parking is available.
